Memorial Day has come and gone, and a return-to-normal summer lies ahead (hopefully). I had the great pleasure of attending my grandson’s high school graduation over the weekend in Oakland, complete with a party at the Taft Street house, the birthplace of the winery and my grandson’s home. Lots of memories.
It has been busy at the winery. May was our best month ever in direct to consumer sales – a combination of orders from our wine club and visitors to the tasting room. New treats are constantly appearing. Our 2019 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir Fifty Five Thirty Seven (the address on Taft Street) was awarded 96 points and a BEST OF CLASS GOLD MEDAL (96 points) in the International Women’s Wine Competition. It competed against Pinots in the $40 – $75 price category and was definitely the best buy. The Taft Street 2021 Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc also won a GOLD MEDAL. Both are available in the Tasting Room, as is our unique 2021 Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc Garagistes.
In June the fun continues with a rescheduled anniversary party, a rehearsal dinner party, and a number of community events on tap. Our Tasting Room and picnic grounds continue to be opened Friday through Sunday from 11;00am until 4;30 pm, with reservations accepted and walk-ins welcomed.
The red wines of the 2021 vintage are progressing nicely, and are contracts for grapes for this year’s harvest are being finalized.
We are ready for you; come visit.
Cheers,
Mike Tierney
