Garage Crafted

Like the renegade bordeaux winemakers known as Garagistes Taft Street began in a garage rather than a grand chateau, stressing quality without pretense. For more than 40 years, we have been working with local growers to create thoughtful, crowd-pleasing wines for any occasion.

Family owned & operated since 1979.

About Us

California Garagistes

The term “garagistes” originated in Bordeaux in the 1980s and refers to innovative winemakers who produce exceptional wines in their garages rather than in grand chateaux. Since 1979, we have carried on the garagistes tradition of creativity and excellence in a down-to-earth locale.

From a backyard Berkeley garage to a former apple processing plant in Sebastopol, California, Taft Street Winery strives to produce authentic and crowd-pleasing wines without pretense by discovering, partnering, and working with exceptional growers in our Sonoma County backyard and beyond.
