2019 Russian River Valley Rose of Pinot Noir

Shutdown Continues

As we get into May there appears to be a general feeling that while the worst may be over it will still be quite some time before “normal” returns. There are a few more people out and about, a little more traffic (but still plenty of parking!), and limited access to parks and trails. But the widespread consequences of Covid-19 pandemic remains and will continue for the foreseeable future.

At the winery cellar we maintain a skeleton crew and the wines are receiving the attention and care they need. Mike Martini and Jake have shouldered bottling chores in addition to their administrative duties. As a result custom work, including bottling, has not been interrupted.

With the Tasting Room closed Kaitlyn has maintained a small crew to help with the Wine Club’s spring release. One welcome surprise has been the success of our direct to consumer program. Both our wine cub and internet sales have exceeded projections. With custom work also on the rise, we feel relatively confident about the future.

However, change is a constant, and challenges and opportunities are ahead. We are preparing for both. In the Tasting Room, we are make physical changes which address possible social distancing needs in the future. Our music series will not be the same, but we are exploring avenues to support our local musicians, a group we care deeply about and who have been among the economically hardest hit by the pandemic.

The Tasting Room remains closed until further notice, although you may still order by phone or online and pick up at the winery (or have your order shipped).

We will keep you posted as we work through this together.

Cheers,

Mike Tierney
