Grilled Fresh Figs on Rosemary Skewers

We have four fig trees (three too many), and are constantly looking for new ways to prepare figs. This is an easy and delicious way of complementing grilled meat on the BBQ.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 rosemary stems about 6 -8 inches long
  • 8 medium ripe figs, halved lengthwise
  • 2 tablespoons onion/balsamic sauce
  • Pepper

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Strip rosemary stems of leaves leaving an inch or so at the tip. Place stems in cold water for 30 minutes. Pat dry.
  2. Skewer 4 fig halves on each stem. Arrange on dish, cut sides up. Brush onion/balsamic sauce on figs.
  3. Grill 2 minutes on each side.
  4. Serve with BBQ chicken, ribs, steak…………….you name it.

Try this with our Russian River Valley Rose of Pinot Noir or Alexander Valley Merlot. YUM!
