Taft Street Winery Sonoma County Harvest Fair

Celebrating 40 Years

We were all set for our 4oth Anniversary Celebration on April Fools’ Day. Even the weather was cooperating – predictions called for blue skies with temperatures in the mic 70’s. Our smoker was ready to be fired up, and the RSVPs ensured a good crowd. Then several staff members tested positive on their home Covid test kits. No one got seriously ill, none went to the hospital; but caution and common sense led us to postpone our celebration for a month or so. The winery remains open, with self-testing in place. Until then, be sure to check out our 40 year mini-documentary below.

Our new releases – the 2021 Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc and the 2021 Russian River Valley Rose of Pinot Noir – have been very well received, both by our Tasting Room visitors and by our distributors around the country. We have just started shipping the 2021 Russian River Valley Chardonnay, another winner and longtime favorite.
The retail and restaurant trade seems to be on an upswing. We are especially pleased with our new representatives in Northern California – Hunter Wine Marketing – who have opened several dozen accounts in the first month of business with us.

Officially the rainy season ends today; in reality, it ended January 1st. For the next six months we can look forward to clear skies and warm temperatures. Let’s hope that is all we experience. Let’s take advantage of what we have and enjoy our favorite beverage in our chosen sipping spot. The winery picnic grounds are currently open on Fridays through Sundays from 12:00 to 4:30 pm. Sit in the sun (or shade), play some bocce, and enjoy the good life.

Cheers!
