Mike Tierney in France

Bonjour from France

Kathy and I are riding the train from Paris to Lyon, after a week’s visit with family in Paris, our first trip in almost two years. Paris was wonderful (if cold), aglow with holiday lights and inviting restaurants every few feet. We managed to import a bottle of 2021 Taft Street Pinot Noir Nouveau to help celebrate Thanksgiving. Looking forward to a few days in Lyon, the center of French gastronomy.

From all reports from the home front things seem to be humming along. Wines are finishing fermentation, holiday orders (includes the Nouveau) are brisk, and the final orders from our distributors are arriving. Looks like another weirdly successful year for Taft Street.

Although we all remain edgy with Covid-19 and its various forms, we are following health protocols and feel we provide a safe environment for wine tasting. It’s always a nice idea to call ahead for reservations, especially during the holiday season when we stockpile our needed beverages.

Happy Holidays to all.

Cheers,

Mike Tierney
