Very best wishes from the folks at Taft Street for a healthy and prosperous New Year.
To knock off the year with some pizzaz, during January we offer three of our Garagistes wines for the price of two. Order a bottle of our 2006 Mendocino Ridge Pinot Noir Garagistes and our 2007 Russian River Valley Chardonnay Garagistes, and choose another bottle at no cost!
The last year was a challenging one, and we have emerged in 2010 a leaner and more efficient business. Our new website has been warmly received, and online orders are quickly becoming an integral part of our sales.
In the vineyards pruning is underway on early maturing grapevines (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir). In the winery all is very quiet at the moment as our production facilility shuts down until January 4th. When we start up again it’s barrel maintenance and preparation for February bottling.
In the office Mike Martini uses the quiet time to finish out the year’s books and to finalize the budget for 2010. A busy and productive time for Mike.
In the Tasting Room Kaitlyn and Greg are seeing the last of the Holiday visitors and are preparing for January’s Russian River Wine Road event – Winter Wineland – January 16th and 17th.
Just to prove we are growing older but not up, I am writing this State of the Street in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan – famous for its powder snow, brought on by non-stop Siberian blizzards. After a wonderful Christmas with family in Shanghai and a week of arctic living in the Northern Pacific, it’s back to Shanghai for a couple of days. Then to a fabled land called Sonoma, where green is the color of winter.
I am very much looking forward to 2010. Our challenges are known; our team is in place; and all of us at Taft Street feel this is the year will will reap the benefits of our planning and hard work.
Thanks to all for your terrific support. We hope to see you often this year.
Cheers,
Mike Tierney
