This Pinot Noir (cold fruit, handpicked at night) was de-stemmed and crushed into the press. The fruit was then gently pressed to tank for 100% stainless steel fermentation. A long cold fermentation time preserved the fruity aromatics of this wine.
This Russian River Valley Rose of Pinot Noir comes from the Bella Sonoma Vineyard, owned by Arturo Ibleto in the heart of the Russian River Valley fog belt. Mornings are usually cool and foggy, making way for afternoon sunshine. This gives the fruit much needed time to ripen and produces very mature flavors while still maintaining a good acid/pH balance.
The 2016 growing season started with consistent rainfall with moderate spring temps allowing for an early bud break and rapid growth. Warmer temps and a dry summer without frost accelerated ripening and resulted in quite aromatic, condensed flavors with higher acidity.
