Sonoma County Harvest Fair

More than 1000 wines using Sonoma County Grapes are entered annually in Sonoma County Fair’s Professional Wine Competition. This competition is the largest regional wine competition in the nation. Judges — 25 of them — come from across the US, and from other countries to sit on a judging panel in three days of blind tastings. Their top selections are announced at the Annual Awards Night Gala.

California State Fair Wine Competition

For over 150 years, the California State Fair has recognized the best wines of the state and the dedication of wineries and vintners in the Golden State’s viticulture and enology industry. Award winners truly are the best of the best! This year, Taft Street was awarded three Best of Class and three gold medals!

The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition results are in and Taft Street took home three silver and two bronze medals:

SF Chronicle Wine Competition Best of Class

The results of the 2010 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition are in! Sixty-three professional wine judges from throughout the United States evaluated 4,913 wines from over 1,500 wineries across the country and Taft Street’s 2008 Russian River Valley Chardonnay was a Best of Class and Judges’ Choice Winner!

This is the second Best of Class award for the 2008 vintage. It was awarded a Gold Medal and Best of Class at the 2009 Sonoma County Harvest Fair last October.

The Sonoma County Harvest Fair is the country’s largest regional wine competition and unique celebration of the senses, set in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country during the most splendid season of the year. Judged by renowned wine critics and sommeliers from throughout the country, Sonoma County’s Harvest Fair is truly a competition of the best of the best.

For Taft Street Winery, the 2009 awards night was very successful. Four of our wines were awarded Gold Medals, with three selected as Best of Class!

Wine & Spirits Year’s Best

Wine & Spirits Magazine rated two of Taft Street Winery’s Chardonnays among the 40 exceptional (90+ points) North American Chardonnays over the past 12 months! The 2007 Russian River Valley Garagiste Chardonnay received 91 pts and the 2007 Russian River Valley Chardonnay received 90 pts and a Best Buy!!!
